Belt and Road Initiative known within China as the One Belt One Road is a global infrastructure development strategy adopted by the Chinese government in 2013 to invest in more than 150 countries and international organizations. The hope is that it can contribute to poverty reduction in Belt and Road countries through policy coordination, facility connectivity, unimpeded trade, financial integration, and people-to-people bonds. CLPF was formed in 2017 when we saw a demand of cleft lip and palate children in these Belt and Road countries. Our aim is to host medical missions in these countries to reduce the number of children with cleft lip and palate issues in the hopes of changing their lives once and for all.
